What is a Grotto?
A Grotto is a local chapter of a fellowship and service fraternity for Master Masons. Chub-e Sabz is our Appalachian chapter, based in Greenwood, Kentucky.

Our local identity
Green wood. Greenwood. Chub-e Sabz.
Our name means “green wood” and honors the Greenwood community and lodge that gave this effort a home in McCreary County.

Members are called Prophets, the traditional headwear is a black fez, and the fraternity is known formally as M.O.V.P.E.R.

- Enchanted Realm
- The traditional name used for the wider Grotto fraternity.
- Appendant body
- An additional Masonic organization. Grotto membership complements Blue Lodge membership; it does not replace it or require membership in the Shrine.
- Prophet
- A member of the Grotto and a Master Mason in good standing.
- M.O.V.P.E.R.
- Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm.
- Black fez
- The traditional headwear that identifies a Grotto Prophet.
- Good fellowship
- The friendship, good cheer, and shared experience at the heart of Grotto life.
